Swahili Mass in Tanzania

Church was really wonderful on my recent trip to Africa last January. Much, much participation by the congregants! Brought me back to my childhood when I used to pray in Swahili. Can’t describe how the singing touched me! Even though the service was 2 hours long, I didn’t want to leave because the jubilation and harmonies blew me away! I revisit the Service every once in a while because I recorded portions of it on my phone. Notice that the choir was co-conducted by an both an adult and a child. There was another music conductor for the congregation. No chance to doze off or daydream as I'd often done in my childhood! I loved the mural behind the alter, with African wild animals on one side and an assortment of penitent sinners on the other!
