Do You Believe in Miracles? Here's One!

I found my childhood friend Elizabeth. We last saw each other when we were both 13 years old - 62 years ago! She is the best friend I wrote about in  AFRICA'S CHILD whose mother gave me a doll. She was the one who was "lost" because she had run away from the orphanage when I first left to go to Middle School. Ever since my departure from Tanganyika in 1963, I had been looking for her and asking about her each time I returned to Tanzania (about 20 times so far). I was told she was in Germany, Moshi, Tabora, and then twenty years ago, I was told she had passed away. Because no one told my how and where she had died, I still had hope in my heart that she was somewhere. Fast forward to 2017. A man who introduced himself as Robert Manos wrote me on my Author's Page on FACEBOOK, saying that he was surfing the Net and found AFRICA'S CHILD on Amazon. He read the free chapters and said he thought Elizabeth was his mother! Long, loooooong story short about the difficulty of tracking her down, she was alive and well, and was his mother - and my beloved Elizabeth. She was delighted to receive the book and kept saying over and over "I will treasure it." We shared memories and danced and sang to  songs from the orphanage that we recalled verbatim! Our reunion was without a doubt one of the highlights of my life!
